Job Title:  Reliability Manager

Position Purpose:
To ensure implementation and execution of a PBG’s reliability engineering program.  The position ensures alignment and collaboration with the corporate reliability organization, in order to fully utilize established corporate guidelines, BKMs and BKPs.  The position has responsibility to analyze and evaluate installation of design for reliability (DFR) methodology and provide feedback and suggestion for reliability improvement.  Additionally, work with corporate reliability to ensure alignment of activities to address MRS and PDP requirements.  Provide continual focus on execution of reliability improvement programs to ensure reliability growth throughout the product life cycle

Responsibilities:
Establishes an organization that develops and embeds corporate standard reliability methods, tools, and templates to ensure that products are designed to meet industry leadership performance in reliability.  Ensures world-class data collection, analysis, and dissemination systems are installed. Assures that the business unit has reliability data and determines resource allocation for appropriate testing corrective action. Assures that reliability Alpha, Beta, & Gamma phase exit std. and tests are adequate to meet reliability objectives of the product. Assures that technical reviews are periodically conducted and become the norm for all new programs.  Ensures that they adequately focus on DFR methodology. Provides a high level of consultation and coordinates, with corporate reliability, training for engineering groups on DFR methodology, tools, and techniques. Plans for reliability growth for each component, process, or product, and develop data driven reliability models for the life cycle. Other duties as assigned.

Job Specifications:

Knowledge:
Typically champions, facilitates and manages a product reliability practice for a PBG.  In depth, hands on, knowledge of reliability engineering concepts, principles and techniques.  Demonstrated work experienced in electronics or electro-mechanical industry.

Skills and Abilities:
Written and verbal communication skills, analytical skills, ability to analyze statistical reports, ability to develop and define test plans and produce test reports.  Guide testing of components and systems.  Manage subordinates, and ability to travel internationally as needed and at least quarterly.

Education and Experience:
A MS/PH.D. in Electrical/Mechanical or Physics/Material Science is required as well as twelve or more years of work experience in the field.
