Job Title: Customer Engineer I

Responsibilities:
Serves as the Company liaison with the customer's equipment and process engineers on administrative and technical matters for assigned projects.
Primary tool set will be PVD (ATON)
Secondary tool set will be SCREENPRINT (Baccini).
Uses escalation policies as required to keep management informed of down situations.
Performs start-up.
Performs and assists senior field personnel on warranty, paid service, and service contract activities.
May require assistance or guidance from more experienced personnel on difficult system problems.
Develops ability to represent Applied Materials to the customer. Assumes accountability for customer service within assigned accounts.Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively with customer process and equipment engineers.
Instructs customers in the operation and maintenance of systems.Serves as the Company liaison with the customer's equipment and process engineers on administrative and technical matters for assigned projects.
Aids senior field personnel in developing and implementing plans to increase productivity.
Tracks performance of systems as assigned and assists in uptime improvement.
Utilises Quality Improvement Process methods and terminology.
Develops and applies diagnostic techniques to resolve complex technical problems on specific Applied Materials products.
Verifies the operational quality of system equipment.
Performs daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, biannual and annual periodic maintenance on systems within established time frames.Also performs wet cleans as required.
Assists in the preparation of and participates in customer meetings.
Requires attentiveness to safety precautions at all times.
Must comply with Company Safety Policy and develop initiative in creating a safe working environment.
PREREQUISITES:
University/College Degree or Technical Degree.
At least 2-3 years experience in High Tech Equipment.
May be exposed to cramped work space, mechanical, electrical, and / or chemical hazards.
Occasionally will be required to work continuously for long periods of time
Will routinely bend, stoop reach and walk.
Includes shift work and on-call status
Demonstrates ability to communicate positively with customers.
Ability to routinely lift, pull or push objects of up to 50 pounds.
Ability to effectively use hand tools, meters, scopes, and other pertinent specialized equipment.
Must be able to communicate positively with customers under difficult (crisis) circumstances.
Ability to travel, both national and international, on a limited basis
Flexibility to work on shifts/overtime/stand-by/on-call/holidays when required.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
