Job Title: Purchasing Manager I

Job Duties :
Directs the activities of buyers and expediters to accomplish company objectives.
Responsible for the evaluation of vendor reliability; oversees the surveying of vendors to maintain adequate working relationship. Reviews and approves purchases up to a specified dollar amount. May negotiate major contracts involving large dollar amounts. Develops policies and procedures for the operation of procurement activities. Monitors the cost, schedule and performance aspects of major subcontracts. Coordinates purchasing activities with engineering and manufacturing departments to maintain inventories at planned levels. May assist with the establishment and maintenance of the production control system.

Requirements :
BA/BS degree in Business, Purchasing/Materials, Distribution or related discipline (or equivalent experience); 8 years related experience, to include 4+ years supervisory/management experience.
